Clara Pitch & Putt was formed in 1967 and changed to Erry Pitch & Putt in 1997 when the course relocated to New Road Clara where it remains today. This is where Open champion Shane Lowry started playing as a youngster. The course is located on a wonderful site overlooking Clara Raised Bog and Nature Reserve. Clara Bog is one of the finest remaining examples of a raised bog in Ireland. On a clear day the view of the bog and the Slieve Bloom mountains in the distance is breath taking.
