Offaly is home to the 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry and also home to five wonderful golf courses at Tulamore, Esker Hills, Birr, Edenderry and Portarlington providing a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels.
Shane’s exploits on the European and PGA Tours has shone the spotlight on Offaly and the wonderful golf courses we have in the county.
The Clara native is inextricably linked with Esker Hills Golf Club as it was on this Christy O’Connor Junior designed course that Shane spent his formative years and the distinct links feel to the course allowed him to hone his skills, readying him for the challenges and success that he would enjoy in recent years.
